Alexandra Álvarez is a Venezuelan artist and entrepreneur, who portrays her life between two cities, New York, and Jersey. She has developed her artistic work around combining elements destined to generate a discourse with a powerful social message. Art is her channel to find answers and her daily inspiration is her daughter.

Her universe is full of referents such as the vibrant colors of her Caribbean, the mysticism and indigenous cosmology, her life as a woman, as a mother, and as an immigrant, as well as her passion for philosophy, psychology, and humanity.

Her works have been exhibited in Venezuela and in different cities around the world such as Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Bogota, New Jersey, Portland, San Francisco, Miami,  Pennsylvania, Italy and New York, she has national and international exhibitions and is currently dedicated to creative work and the support of artists from the execution of dissemination events. Her works are in private collections in Venezuela, Argentina, Spain and the United States.

STATEMENT

GENESIS “…To that beginning from nothing which evokes divine creation.”

Who am I? Where do we come from? What is the meaning of my existence in this vast universe? These questions, infinite in their depth and mysterious in their answers, have driven me on an endless search for meaning. I have traveled the path of reading, seeking small lights that might illuminate the enigma of my being.

The Genesis series is my tribute to the origin, to that beginning from nothing which evokes divine and eternal creation. It is a return to my essence, an intimate dialogue with my soul.

Inspired by nature, fueled by profound readings, and guided by acrylics, my creative journey begins; sometimes in shadow, sometimes in light. Today, standing before the canvas, I delve into the alchemy of blending materials in an endless exploration. I seek to communicate with you through the most universal and profound language I possess: art.
